Rating out of 10: 9/10
Type: Fiction
Genre: Motivational
Readability: This is a very easy and fast book to read.
Discussion: The Alchemist is a book which is an absolute page-turner. I’ve spoken to friends whom have read this book in a single night or others who say they can’t put it down. This book is popular amongst travellers as it’s a thought provoking and inspiring read which has a heart warming effect on the reader. The storyline depicts the journey of a young shepherd who goes out into the world and faces adverse challenges in the desert and must overcome his fears and doubts. This book has been described as a modern classic because of its popularity. The Alchemist is about a journey and discovery, two key concepts which invoke and inspire many readers in todays world. This book is about taking the road less travelled and stepping into the unknown and as such, a great book for all ages and all reader types.
Audience: This book is suitable for all ages but would best be fitted to an early teen an onwards age group.
Conclusion: An unforgettable book that stays with the reader.
